From news.gov.scot, yesterday:
‘Scottish Ministers are on course to invest over £125 million in 2018-19 to mitigate the worst impact of UK Government welfare reforms and to protect those on low incomes. Meanwhile, as at the middle of December, the new Social Security Scotland agency had spent £34 million making over 150,000 payments of Carers Allowance Supplement and Best Start Grants, with applications for the latter only opening on 10th December. UK Government welfare cuts since 2010 are expected to reduce welfare spending in Scotland by around £3.7 billion in 2020/21.’

I continue to be amazed by the creativity the SNP display balancing their fixed income.
That bit of elastic must be guy stretched by now.
Only Indie can give us what we need.
The three London Parties howl and bay at the SNP in Holyrood and Westminster because they are bereft of political policies and intellect to address the root cause of their clusterfukupshitehouse they have induced.
Reading a book by Evan Davis called Post Truth and I believe that British and American politics are in the latrine.
Truth is what they tell us. Words mean anything they want and liars for hire abound.
Is this an entry point into a post Truth fascist state.?
May’s actions point in that direction.
I need to calm down but this dystopian nightmare is not going away anytime soon unless Scotland walks and the sooner the better.

Yes, me too, amazed that is. Looked at Evan Davis book back in days of Blair when he argued for privatising NHS.

Wonder if Ruthie has her baby box yet?
‘Course its a total waste of good money, when we could have given a £14 million bung to a company for future ferry services which has never run a ferry service, has no ferries, and own money from previous dubious enterprises (according to Channel 4). Its what Murdo would have done, after all!
Or we could set up military bases in places like wealthy one party state Singapore, so as to give them the security they need.
We once had bases there when it was a colony, but then independence came along: they got rich and London wants to protect them. (Jeremy Hunt said he was representing a country called “England”—though he also once claimed his Japanese wife was Chinese—– to a Chinese audience).
This, when we cannot intercept rubber rafts floating off the White Cliffs of Englandshire, and are mesmerised/paralysed by a drone flying over a huge airport for a day and a half.
I suspect the “Great” in Great Britain is the same “Great” as the great chieftain o’ the puddin’ race.
