Support for Scottish independence is at its highest ever level

The 2014 independence referendum has left a legacy of record high levels of support for independence.

I’ve been meaning to post this and say something about it since From Indyref1 to Indyref2? The State of Nationalism in Scotland was published by Scottish Social Attitudes. Put this evidence of a trend to end 2016 along with the two 2017 polls showing the probable vote now ‘too-close-to-call’ as statisticians say and the recent predictions of bookies and I think I know where this is all going.

We’re ahead! It’s almost certain that there is more than 50% support for Scottish independence because it was underestimated by the Ipsos MORI use of landline telephone-based data collection.

Why the 49% supporting independence in today’s BMG poll may be more accurate and much more optimistic than other recent polls suggesting a wider gap.

Never mind the opinion polls or the media or the academics, the bookies confidently back a Yes vote in Indyref 2

I wonder if the FM’S speech will reinforce this upward trajectory?
