In a poll of 2003 UK adults (169 Scots) by Opinium for the Observer on 8-9 August, when asked:
If requested, the UK Government should allow the Scottish Government to have a second referendum in the next 5 years | or |
The UK Government should prevent the Scottish Government from holding a second referendum in the next 5 years |
46% said YES and only 34% said NO.
Support was even stronger in London with 48% in favour but across the UK (Jo, Willie) 60% of Lib Dems! 50% of Labour supporters too.

The Claim of Right 1989, asserted the “sovereign right of the Scottish people to determine the form of Government best suited to their needs”.
The Labour and Liberal parties that operate in Scotland signed this Claim of Right, and declared and pledged that:- “in all our actions and deliberations their (the Scottish people) interests shall be paramount”.
It would seem they lied to us, big time.
When you see Gordon brown swanning about in his John Bull suit, whining about “nationalism”, don’t forget the British nationalism that drives him.
Don’t forget the BBC that gives Brown air time, but forgets to ask any questions.
And the rest of the media that operates in Scotland—why no questions about the Claim of Right? Too embarrassing?

Ah Murray, looks and speaks like your local Ned , in denial just like his party who have never recovered from their rejection by people in voting for the SNP . so out of touch its breathtaking even when it’s pointed out their brand of unionism is not required , not the slightest bit of embarrassment that his party are working with the Tory party in many councils all over Scotland , The resurrection of Broon shows the abject desperation of this worthless group of con artists .
