Hungry, slavering, co-ordinated campaign by Scottish media and the opposition parties to unseat Health Secretary is despicable and utterly cynical

Spread, literally, across all the Scottish media this morning, we have a terminally ill cancer patient calling on the Health Secretary to resign. I’m not going to share any of the frankly morbid, distasteful and utterly cynical use of the story by Richard Leonard and the Unionist press as they circle the Health Secretary slavering like a pack of mangy hyenas desperate to feed on her political corpse.

Shona Robison - SNP - Dundee City East

This incident, tragic but single, is just the latest in a series of attempts to undermine the Health Secretary and score a point over the SNP. No consequent improvement in NHS Scotland is really expected or indeed really possible given the superiority of NHS Scotland over the others in the UK where resignations would actually make sense but are not being called for with any enthusiasm or expectation. Here’s a reminder of the nature of this dirty strategy so far and of the evidence an award would make more sense than a resignation:

Scotsman under fire over dishonest reporting of four-doctor protest, against NHS England, but at Holyrood (?), in latest round weaponizing NHS in proxy war against SNP

BBC Scotland and Herald warn that paediatricians can’t carry on despite 64% increase in paediatric specialists under SNP administration and 8.7% fall in the birth rate.

In the Scotsman today, 93% of Scottish patients get appointment with GP within 2 days!

Pressure on Herald editor to resign over misrepresentation of NHS successes as Health Secretary is nominated for award as most successful in UK

Poxy Unionist media unfairly attack NHS in proxy war against SNP

I hope there is no question of them getting their way on this?

Truly pathetic, cheap politics reflecting the low life level of supposed “leadership” in the opposition parties and the despicable Scottish MSM.

It makes me almost embarrassed to be Scottish but there is light in the tunnel!

It looks like 38º is in on the act too with a proposed petition that is based on false premises. I have written to complain in these words:
“Sorry, but this is complete nonsense. You are buying into the anti-SNP rhetoric of the MSM. You really ought to check your facts. I suggest you start by taking a good look at the on-going assessment of NHS performance in Scotland by Prof. John Robertson which (and you should know this) can be found at https://thoughtcontrolscotland.com/

The sources you reference are all union-supporting and which, therefore, will attempt at every turn to denigrate Scotland. It is also plain that their columnists are wholly incompetent when it comes to evaluating statistics or putting them into some kind of appropriate context.

This proposed “investigation” is misplaced and, given its set-up, likely to be misused by opponents of Scotland and its Government. Its premises are false.”

      Struan McAteer,

38degrees in Scotland has for some time now been a creature of a small pro Union clique. Often, it’s ‘campaigns’ show a marked degree of ignorance the the separate legal system in Scotland. Often, the arguments they put forward are pretty flimsy and insubstantial.

I think that many who were interested in it initially have stopped supporting it. Such campaigning bodies are often pretty small and it is relatively east for a ‘clique’ to capture it.

WordPress seems to have a glitch just now, where blogs aren’t showing the ‘like’ and ‘share’ buttons to some readers, just in case you’re wondering why you have fewer or no likes.

Surely people must be seeing through this slandering by now . You have one woman whom I am sure was badly treated but what about the thousands that have been well treated , it would be too much of course for Unionists to take any notice of them because that wouldn’t be SNP baaad .!

It’s yet another witchhunt of an SNP politician, by the British nationalist state. Their aim is to distract from the UKgov cuts to the English NHS, etc, which is basically being privatised under peoples noses. They really want to get their hands on Scotland’s NHS. Many people don’t even know we have our own NHS, though funding is limited by the UKgov, according to funding limits on the Eng NHS. The SNP have invested where they can, it’s not perfect, but a million times better than it is south of the border. Prescriptions kept free to all in Scotland, more GPs, more consultants, it’s all being done under ever more contraints coming from Westminster.

I hadn’t seen the daily rags’ attempts to demonise our heath minister but it is very sinister, out of proporttion and as you say John, despicable.

Strangely yesterday, and as my son pointed out, we had 2 leaflets posted through our door, adverts for private healthcare in Edinburgh. The vultures have been circling and are about to swoop down on Scotland, and not just to rip the SNHS to bits, they are after much more.

    It’s hugely sinister.

Thanks for your great articles, have shared.

This is another example of why you are not a journalist. Shiona is there under patronage. She’s doing a shit job. She deserves the kind of swift binning you got at UWS. Scotland doesn’t need talentless mediocrities

Swift binning? I jumped! Thanks for trolling me though. Things can be too cosy round here.
