Kevin McKenna makes another rabid attack on the SNP. Some people think this recent convert to the independence campaign is a mole. I don’t think so. Moles are quite cute.

‘The Tories in England might indeed want to dismantle the NHS in the long term as their critics claim. Yet, managing it so incompetently in Scotland that it’s no longer fit for purpose, is just as bad.’

These are McKenna’s words today, 29.10.16, at the end of a vitriolic rant which the Herald has sensibly or sneakily posted as an ‘opinion’ only. Is it no longer fit for purpose? See:

https://thoughtcontrolscotland.com/2016/10/28/nhs-scotland-bucking-the-uk-trend-despite-media-attacks/

McKenna has considerable previous as an SNP-basher since his supposed and suspicious conversion from a rabid Unionist. Here’s what Bella Caledonia wrote of him before he converted:

‘It’s a piece so loaded with self-loathing, barely recognised inferiorism and desperate, desperate, political emptiness it’s hard to approach, but we really do need to talk about Kevin.’

I don’t trust him at all. The idea that he is a ‘mole’ is rife on social media. His writing smells of ‘agent provocateur’ to me (Google it). Of course, if you suggest any such thing you are ‘paranoid’.

Either way, it’s a good gig. McKenna appears daily across the Herald, the Observer and the supposedly pro-Independence National. The theme is always the same – ‘I love the idea of independence but thae SNP bullies are spoiling everything!’ I’m beginning to hae ma doots aboot the National too! Can a whole newspaper be a mole?

His use of metaphors is hardly inspiring but he thinks he’s smart. His closing statement, “The Tories in England might indeed want to dismantle the NHS in the long term as their critics claim. Yet, managing it so incompetently in Scotland that it’s no longer fit for purpose, is just as bad.” reveals his reluctance to address the obvious and his quote makes no sense since he is clearly well behind in his understanding of the organisation and management of the Health services in England and Scotland.

Dismantling the NHS in England is well underway and is being progressed at a frightening pace. Many £ millions are being siphoned off, asset stripping already strained budgets. Healthcare providers are required to beg for patient referrals, competing for contracts against the deep pockets of privately run organisations. Loss of contracts and the accompanying revenue hurts and damages the NHS. Day by day the attrition is relentless.

In Scotland the NHS trusts are funded direct. Healthcare provision is managed by Medical staff supported by administrators. The SNP government does not get involved in the management of the service restricting involvement of ministers to the provision of direction. Interventionist policies have no place in a well run organisation

McKenna’s attack on the Scottish NHS management is unjustified. He should get rid of the chip on his shoulder and refrain from politicizing patient care.to his own ends.

Excellent explanation CJ. Thanks for adding to this. I hope more recent readers get the chance to see this. I’m busy on a piece comparing all of this with mass hysteria of the kind we usually associate with pacific islanders!

Can a whole newspaper be a mole? YES! How on earth could a publication from the unionist Herald stable be anything else?

OT I agree with your billboards and can’t understand – having read most – other indy strands being vehemently opposed.

If McKenna was even remotely interested in Scotland regaining it’s independence he would be ripping into the totalitarians who are determined to stamp it out, not the party that has been fighting for it all it’s life and especially not at this critical time. He’s not a mole he’s a snake like the rest of them, filling his pockets as he goes with his hopeful notoriety. Recently came across him, can’t understand the debate about, what’s he about? Your either for Independence, against it or a sycophant to those who are against it, it’s plain to see what side what’s his name is from……boring same old treacherous sycophancy, I wouldn’t give him the time of day. Next?

Thanks Gerry. A snake? You may be right. He is certainly everywhere in the press making money.

Re the billboards: The referendum campaign has not yet started since there is as yet no referendum. The billboards are fine as they are drawing attention to the bias of an organisation we the Scottish taxpayers are funding. Crazy!!!! The poster campaign content could then be greatly extended and changed frequently throughout the weeks of hard slogging rebutting BBC propaganda

I see the English press is after the Tories on the health fiasco I identified. (figures, numbers and liars. Hammond is expert at it. Maybe someone could awaken McKenna and give him the news.

Kirsty Strickland’s protestations remind me of the many foot-stamping indignant but guilty students I faced over the years. Methniks etc.
