A survey by the University of Edinburgh along with Cardiff University, reported in the National, suggests that 88% of leave voters would be content to lose Scotland as long as they got out of the EU.
For me, though, the most interesting part was the results for Tory voters in the sample.
92% thought Scotland leaving the Union would be an acceptable price to pay to take back control. Less pleasing was the fact that 81% were prepared to accept the destabilisation of the Irish peace process to the same end.
So much for the Conservative and Unionist party then?

The Independent reported that the EU parliament to the “Irish Question” was to move the border to the Irish Sea. N Ireland would then remain in the Single Market etc.
The SNP, as an interim measure, should therefore insist that the EU/UK border should be set at Berwick, and that Scotland should have the same benefits. THAT would give everyone what they voted for in the EU referendum.
Of course it would be refused, but what good PR.
Heard Ruth speechifying this afternoon, that “we need an alternative to nationalism”. That would be British nationalism, same as Spanish nationalism, then.
“Bound to the State” I think was Franco’s political ideology.

Someone should tell .Mrs May. Just seen BBC News showing Theresa clasp hands with Ruth and declare that with the Scottish Tory success in the GE “we have saved the Union”. Time for that good Scots word – boak!

Time England stood on its own feet rather than being subsidised by Scotland.

We should have next Indyref in England. Tell them we are allowing them to make our decision for us. Very magnanimous of us.
