And:
On the RCGP website, for Dr Mack: ‘In 2011 he became interested in celebrating the centenary of the Dewar Report, a ground breaking document that led directly to the creation of the NHS some 30 years later.’ I know, it kind of reads like the NHS will be created in 2041. Not a day too soon for England, I say.
Isn’t that a bit of a fib? Did Alistair Carmichael tell him that one? The report suggested patients pay ‘a small fee’. These would be largely ‘cleared’ peasants so ‘a small fee’ in whose eyes? The idea that anything leads directly to anything else in history reveals a very simple mind. I don’t recommend that Dr Mack puts this forward as a PhD proposal. PhD supervisors don’t like students who just want to prove what they already think they know.
Maybe he should ‘become interested’ in the more contemporary Health and Social Care Act in 2012, which opened up the NHS to more private firms and the several Lib Dems with links to private health-care, including Clegg, Cable and Menzies. Finally, I promise, there’s very good or bad news for Dr Mack regarding his old stamping ground of Essex. Here’s an opportunity to really make a difference among people who really need his help now that he’s sorted out Scotland’s NHS:
Clacton-on-Sea features and I’m sure is a lot warmer than Dingwall
It’s kind of like my offer to Mormons and Witnesses to send my three sons across to the US to help Americans to stop killing each other with automatic weapons. They need us as much as we need them, clearly. There are no words for the puzzled reactions of these young missionaries!
Since writing the above piece, more information flows into me:
