Only 99.9%? So it has FAILED to reach the standard! Expect something on GMS with a coordinated approach by Labour, Tory and trade union representative, who will tell us that the reservoirs at Mugdock and Loch Katrine might have to be completely drained and the pipes replaced……… but, on the other hand these things will not happen, but GMS and Reporting Scotland will have dished up more FEAR.

Heard on radio 4 a couple of years ago that many of the privatised water companies in England mortgaged their infrastructure to gain capital for repairs to the pipe network? What happens when these companies are unable to pay the bill? The UK taxpayer will bail them out and the privately owned water company owners just walk away? Craig

As for the water our son says we are lucky that it is not privatised,poor fellow lives in England.

A future Labour government would not block a second Scottish independence referendum, according to shadow chancellor John McDonnell.
In an interview at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, he said any decision about holding a vote would be up to the Scottish Parliament.
His view contradicts that of Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard.
Earlier this year, Mr Leonard said the party would refuse to grant Holyrood the power to hold another vote.
Mr McDonnell’s comments follow the publication of an opinion poll suggesting the majority of Scots could back independence.
NOTE the interesting insight (from his own words) into John McDonnell’s somewhat colonialist mind-set revealed in the comment below (where, precisely, is this “..English parliament..” of which he speaks?):
However, Mr McDonnell said: “The Scottish Parliament will come to a considered view on that and they will submit that to the government and the ENGLISH Parliament itself.
“If the Scottish people decide they want a referendum that’s for them.”
