Scotland has less domestic violence than England: JRF Excerpt 3

I think some eye-catching points got lost in my large piece of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation report on Poverty in the UK, so I’m re-posting excerpts:

Domestic violence is for all age and deprivation-level groups, lower than in England. It would be really interesting to have a gender breakdown for the Scottish figures to compare with the shocking level in one of the groups above – 10%!

    John, am I right in thinking that % ages of offender are not meaningful unless we have absolute numbers to compare?

    E g the 15% 16+ in deprived area is lower than England but the others is 85% whilst England totals 80%

      Aren’t % better to compare a country of 5.3 million with one of 53 million.

      And where are you getting offenders from? The graph shows the percentage of victims.

    Almost exactly one year without alcohol or caffeine. Planning to be clean of diazepam meds by April 1st. Might have a wee one

      On a strict diet and exercise regime. 10+ km a day walking and no starchy foods or alcohol. dropped 1 kg in 2 weeks and feeling braw.
