I’ve just posted this (snailmail) separately, blind, to the heads of BBC News and the Scottish Government civil service:

Head of News and Current Affairs
BBC Scotland

Leslie Evans
Permanent Secretary
St Andrew’s House

Dear…..
Freedom of Information Request
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, please provide me with details of all Freedom of Information requests made by the BBC Scotland News and Current Affairs Department, of all and any Scottish Government departments, from 12th May 1999 until the present day, ie the date of the arrival of this letter in your hands.
Thank you in anticipation,
John W Robertson, Professor (Retired)
Best of luck with that one Prof. Don’t hold your breath – I would hate to lose you:)
You’ll probably find that FOI’s apply to everyone except the BBC.

Yup reckon Finnmacollie is right re FOI’s not applying to the state broadcaster…… Folk have tried it before ….. They have an exemption….. Think the Rev. Tried it…..

Yes, I’ve done that too. I can’t remember BBC London now Salford ever saying that they’ve made an FOI request. It’s not the kind of thing PSBs do. Maybe of a corporation but of their own funder?

Would it not be easier to request the record for requests made by the BBC from the Scottish Government ?
