Exposing violent racists or keekin’ at hospital waiting lists: Investigative Journalism from BBC Wales and BBC Scotland

Tonight at 8.30, on BBC wales and on BBC Scotland, we get a chance to see what our two courageous teams of investigative reporters have been literally risking life and limb on.

BBC Wales have exposed the secret mountain village location of a cell of violent thugs whom the Home Office wants to ban.

BBC Scotland’s team, fresh from following the wrong lorry of calves to Spain, have taken considerable risks by accessing the online waiting list target data from the SNP’s Nazi-like Information Services Division and then by covert activity among deviant subcultures such as the Killcreggan line-dancing group in lawless Argyll.

Lisa Summers begs for her life after being taken hostage by the Kilwinning Loyal Ice Skating Under 12s

At the time of writing, two of the Wales Investigates team are in intensive care and BBC Scotland’s Disclosure Operative, Lisa Summers, has had to go to bed after the gang leader from Killcreggan made her do line-dancing until she got it right.

I glanced at the Wales Investigates on line piece about the ‘Hidden world of neo-Nazi recruiters’. I was mightily impressed by the devil-may-care insouciance of the crack beeb Wales reporting unit as they described locating the Disc-Jockey of an outfit called Radio Aryan (could that be the Welsh version of GMS I wonder?) who goes under the name of Sven Longshanks (this is genuine info – check it out yourselves if you doubt my veracity).

Given his selection of alias one suspects DJ Sven Longshanks is probably a devotee of the history of the Plantagenet monarchy and the works of the famed Swedish cinematographer Sven Nykvist. Sven Nykvist famously worked with Ingmar Bergman on the memorable epic ‘Fanny and Alexander’ (For those who don’t routinely watch foreign language cinematic masterpieces a brief descriptor – Fanny and Alexander is a heart-warming coming of age tale of an ambitious but limited ability New Labour apparatchick called Alexander who tried (unsuccessfully) to escape the deadening shadow of his older and smarter sister by penning ‘An ode to post-classical endogenous growth theory’ as a paean of praise to the mystical and mercurial britnat Chancellor ‘Broonie’ : Swedish translation = ‘Fanny’).

Those beeb Wales reporters are nothing short of heroic I reckon. They certainly knocked their beeb Scotland competitors into a cocked hat on this occasion.

fannytastic detail! I like it all. Are Welsh reporters made tough by the oppressive government they Labour under?

Just a thought. Could the “Sven” be named after Sven Hassel, who has written a bunch of war books based on a dregs of society Penal Panzer Regiment, which has a certain popularity/notoriety in the UK?
