‘UNISON is today calling on the [UK] government to enable the NHS to pay the living wage and lift almost 80,000 health employees out of poverty. Ahead of the Living Wage Foundation’s living wage week, UNISON has published an analysis that reveals most workers on the lowest pay bands such as catering assistants, porters, cleaners and pharmacy assistants, in England are paid below the minimum recommended.’

Only Scotland and Wales pay the living wage to all NHS employees and Scotland was first to pay the living wage to all public-sector employees. Recent consultation on taxation suggests that this group will also be protected from any tax increases.
The Scottish Government’s commitment and steps to move Scotland toward a more equal ‘Scandinavian model’ society are good news for all of us. We know already that such societies have less crime, less mental health problems, less drug abuse, better general health, higher productivity and that middle and upper earners recognise these benefits improve their lives too. Isn’t it appalling that Unison have to make a call for common decency on the same day the headlines are blaring out that the ‘great and the good’ have been squirreling away trillions in off-shore hidey-holes for fear they may have to pay a wee bit of tax. Of course, they’re not breaking any of the laws that their minions have created for them!

The writing is getting even clearer on the wall for Englandistan and Putingrad (aka London) as the Head of State Elizabeth Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (aka Brenda)is found out avoiding her own taxes while the nation can no longer afford essential services yet can squander Billions on aircraft carriers with no aircraft and nuclear submarines with no access to firing codes while there are only 3 vessels guarding the Uk coast compared with Italy”s 600. To compound matters there is a government in office but not in power and subverting democracy while madly pursuing suicidal destructive policies apparently conceived by a foreign power.
If the fall of Singapore signified end of the British Empire then surely Brexit will bring the end of the British State because of the exposed Establishment sleaze, incompetence and corruption at the highest levels.

Just mentioning an update from a previous article re. Stephen Crabb MP (see below):
A married former cabinet minister has become the first Tory MP to face the party’s new disciplinary procedures following a Telegraph investigation into his conduct.
A Downing Street source said that Stephen Crabb had been referred for investigation in line with a behavioural code launched by the party on Friday.
Now The Colonel has an opportunity to offer herself as a Character Witness for her “..political soulmate..” at Crabb’s tory party disciplinary procedure. Maybe the MSM might ask her whether she proposes this course of action?
A quick comment on the ‘Professor’ Joseph Mifsud connection with Stirling Uni. (I declare an interest – I completed a degree there a while back). I noticed this info on the STV site (see below):
In September 2014, a “lavish” three-day reception was arranged at the Stirling University campus for LAD staff including Prof Mifsud.
Visitors were put up at Stirling Court Hotel on campus during the trip and treated to a drinks reception and gala dinner with university principal Gerry McCormac, as well as being given a tour of a nearby whisky distillery.
STV News understands that on another visit to Stirling campus in 2016, Prof Mifsud was greeted at the airport by the principal’s personal chauffeur.
How on earth does the Principal of Stirling Uni (apparently someone called Gerry mcCormack) have a ‘..principal’s personal chauffeur’)?? – What the heck is going on with the heidbummers at our Scottish Unis? Does John Swinney know that the Stirling Uni is squandering money on a ‘personal chauffeur ‘ and associated vehicle? (presumably an upmarket vehicle – not a fuel efficient Fiat or similar) – Has nobody heard of taxis and buses and trains??
If they are getting away with that sort of rubbish no wonder they get hooked up with all sorts of dodgy ‘spooks’ masquerading (badly) as academics of international repute.
To (almost) quote The Colonel – The Augean stables could do with a wee bit of light dusting maybe? Something for the SNP Scottish Govt to have a wee look at in due course maybe?

Hi John – I was completing a degree at Glasgow Uni in 1979 (graduated 1980). I did a further degree at Stirling quite a few years later – so our paths didn’t cross.
I noticed a story on the beeb Wales website which I found illuminating. To me it suggests the brexit stuff is continuing to release the ‘imp of the perverse’ amongst an element of the population. Really starting to feel ‘permitted’ to ‘other’ those who they feel don’t perfectly fit their preferred britnat template. See below:
A Greggs worker who allegedly told a customer who ordered in Welsh that it sounded “like Tourette’s” has been suspended.
Greggs said the company was “deeply sorry” for any offence caused by the incident.
Sioned Howells, 18, from Llanllwni , said the alleged comment was made by a member of staff after she ordered food at the Greggs shop in Lampeter.
Sioned said: “I work in Lampeter in a pharmacy and every Saturday my boss asks me to get a bacon and egg roll so I go and get them.
“I ordered it in Welsh and thought they spoke Welsh so I said it back again in English.
“Then a different male member of staff said, ‘That was Welsh? I thought it sounded more like you had Tourettes to me.’
“I was just in complete shock, I had never been that speechless before in my life. I didn’t want to respond because I could have said anything.”
Tourette’s syndrome is a neurological condition characterised by a combination of involuntary noises and movements called ‘tics’.
Sioned said the incident was the first time her speaking Welsh was received negatively, and later tweeted about the comment.
Sioned added: “It’s ridiculous. The Welsh language is mine and my family’s first language and it’s very important to me and I speak it every single day.
Being belittled for speaking Welsh in an area where Welsh speaking is simply part of the daily routine. The extremist britnat beast is surely stirring nastily.
